This is a Gretsch Electromatic lapsteel Hawaiian made between 1940-1942. This is not to be confused with the other later Gretcsh steels you see on ebay. They were made by Valco later. If you read the Gruhn book... you will see that Gretsch only made one steel... and this is it and is in fact the first electric guitar Gretsch ever made. Has the wooden pickup cover... and notice the knobs. A very rare find! All original and in original HSC. I have strings on it now.
