1952 Gretsch pre-Streamliner Electric Archtop Guitar

This is an extremely rare late 1952 vintage Gretsch archtop electric guitar, serial number 09995. This instrument is the 6190-1 model. There were three batches (of 100 each) of the seminal 6190-1 (which led to the Streamliner, which was the basis for the 6120). The #099xx batch was the debut. The feature transitions to the '54 model year Streamliner began to appear in the last batch (#124xx). The 6190-1 was a bit more primitive than it's Streamliner iteration, but still a solid electric archtop, with that "Great Gretsch Sound".

This instrument has the sunburst finish rather than the regular, and looks stunning. It is in outstanding original condition. I see just one crack on the side near the neck, as seen in the photos. The instrument has been played but was obviously always well cared for. Comes in its original case, also in fantastic shape! Good luck in this no reserve auction.
