Up for your consideration is a 1958 Gretsch Country Club 6193. This gorgeous archtop is in wonderful condition for her age. The only issues present are some separation on the headstock wings. They are stable and haven't moved in years. She could easily be repaired if one chose to do so. The only other issue is a plate around the jack. It's beautifully done! One would think it was original (but I'm assuming it's not)!
This 'Natural' Country Club weighs just 7.20 lbs. with a huge nut width of just under 1 3/4 inches and a scale length of 25 1/2 inches. Two and three-quarter inch deep rock maple body, with quadruple binding on the top and back and two large double-bound f-holes. Three-piece maple/ebony/maple neck with a nice medium-to-thick profile and a white-and-black-bound ebony fretboard with 21 frets and inlaid thumb or Neo Classical position markers. Two of the first Filtertron pickup models with the smooth tops and un-adorned rings. Gretsch roller bridge and G cutout tailpiece. All hardware gold-plated with the expected amount of tarnishing for a well used and loved instrument of this vintage.
In addition, this instrument with the right cocktail of compressor and fuzz, is like the '53 Les Paul I never should have sold. Move over Brian Setzer..Hey, once you go Gretsch, you stop playing fetch!
And for you newbies and poor feedback recipients out there!!!! Please contact me before bidding or your bid will be canceled. I don't like using this proviso but I've been burnt before.
I accept PayPal ONLY unless discussed beforehand.
Also, please be advised that this guitar is listed locally and will be removed if sold.
Shipping will be calculated at end of auction. Please don't ask me to calculate shipping costs. If you've bought a guitar on Ebay before, you have a good idea of what it costs to ship.
As you may have noticed, I am in Nova Scotia, Canada. Thus, the shipping by USPS is not correct. I will always try to use the least expensive and safest methods possible unless instructed otherwise.
