For your consideration is a 41 year old Gretsch Country Gentleman named "Claudette". It belonged to a great local musician I worked with back in the 70's. He passed away 14 years ago and I bought this guitar from his family to help cover expenses. I've held onto it since then but haven't used it on gigs, however the guitar plays and sounds awesome. You won't be disappointed with this American piece of history.
As you can see in the pics, the guitar is not perfect. It has it's flaws on the binding and a few other places (scratches etc.) but it's very original except for the Grover keys he put on.The case is also the original and also shows character wear. The SN# is 11047 dating it to Nov. 1970 and the 47th one made.
The guitar got it's name by Ted's love of the song of the same name. He could really smoke on that tune so he started to call the guitar "Claudette"..
The guitar needs to go to a good home where it would be loved, I can no longer afford to hold onto it.
Item will be sent to the new owner tuned and with new Dean Markley medium strings..
I have got the price set as low as possible for a starting bid with no reserve.
