1981 Gibson ES-347TD, ES 347...the rare cross between the ES-335 and ES-355 ! This is in the even more rare WHITE finish, that has aged to a creamy color. This is as close as you can get to the original ALEX LIFESON ES-355 guitar, in fact it's closer to the original than the Gibson Alex signature ES-355 guitar because it has the right horn size, volute and body shape..(it's still a 1970's body shape)..kind of reminds me of Gibson's version of a Gretsch white Falcon. It's just like a Gibson ES-355 , but just doesn't have the Varitone or Maestro tailpiece and the 3 ply binding. Amazing tone!! ALL ORIGINAL: TP-6 Tailpiece, Original Pickups (Tim Shaw?), Gibson Tuners (no cranks), speed knobs, and coil splitter on lower horn..the only thing that is non-original is the black switch tip on the coil splitter toggle which was probably white. Easy play original low profile frets. The guitar is in excellent condition!!...No damage!!! only a few nicks on the entire guitar, very small..one on the edge of the headstock tip and one on the top of the guitar near the srtap button!! Has very slight discoloration form a wall type guitar holder behind the nut..One scuff and two nicks on the back of the neck. Gold is still in great shape on most of the guitar, with the exception of a little wear on the pickup covers..mostly the neck pickup cover. These things are so insignificant that they are hardly worth mentioning...just want to be as thorough as possible. Wider 1 & 11/16th's inch nut. Original BRASS nut, single ply body and headstock binding, original pickguard, ebony fingerboard, block inlays, strap buttons, truss rod cover. The guitar is set up right now for me with a little higher action and lighter gauge strings. Truss rod is loosened all the way right now to accomodate higher action in first 5 frets. The neck is a slimmer fast neck..not a big baseball bat! I will ship it with a case, (non original) in a Gibson shipping box. I love these guitars and have bought and sold many vintage Gibsons on ebay. I have been getting lots of questions regarding the guitar..

The TP-6 tailpiece is set further back on this ES-347 from the factory..some Gibsons like the EDS-1275 or series I Howard Roberts Fusion are like this as well... the guitar coule be fitted with a Maestro Vibrola, Bigsby or 335, 345 style tailpiece and you would not see post holes!

I wanted to mention the guitar CASE: The case the guitar ships with is a VERY COOL genuine GIBSON Purple lined LIfton guitar case from the early to mid 1970's, which is valuable on it's own. It has the GIBSON logo in gold on the top It's in moderately good condition. All latches present and good handle...there is just some diesent wear around all edges of the case, also some sticker adhesive..and it could be cleaned up.
