1989 Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman Guitar.
Super rare and practically brand new (that’s right)...here’s the story. Bought new at Long and McQuades in Toronto by a band leader who had a medical condition (the shakes) and used the guitar to attempt to cover up the shaking...unfortunately his condition worsened quickly and he had to give up. He put it in its case and there it stayed until I obtained it (it still had the original strings...and oxidized)
As you see it has a black and gold scheme with an ebony fret board and Gibson’s take on Gretsch’s fret markers. The guitar and case are both mint (the lock has not even been set on the case!!)
The only issue worth mentioning is the slight mark on the bottom of the fret board...check out the last pic...it's very slight but I want to be up front...it's not a big deal and common to these guitars of this era. This issue is defiantly NOT separation of the fingerboard it's just a really fine check line. Other than the check the guitar is perfect...so is the case. Never gigged and barely played (just not my thing...I'm more of a Les Paul type)
To be clear this NOT the 1998 re-issue Country Gent and is NOT the Tennessean... this is the Original Gibson Chet Atkins Country Gentleman.
