2003 Cherry Red Gibson ES-333 “Made In Memphis” Semi-Hollow Guitar (S/N 040055)

I have a 2003 Gibson “Made In Memphis” ES-333 that I no longer need. It is in good condition (8.5/10). I am currently selling gear as I no longer have the time to play these beauties. It is kept in its original Gibson Memphis gig bag which is included in this sale. As for its condition, guitars are meant to be played and this is a player’s guitar. It has some marks and scratches, the usual stuff for a played guitar. However, though it has been used, it has been well-taken care of by me and my tech. The neck is perfect with no twists or warping, all the tuners and electronics work, it plays great and sounds as sweet as a 335 should. These guitars are no longer made so which is too bad since Gibson actually made a guitar that was reasonably priced for the quality of the instrument. It has been played in the studio and live so it has a pedigree as a player, not a looker.

This guitar is entirely stock with a thin satin cherry red finish, maple back and sides, laminated maple top, one baulk mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and pearloid dot inlays. All hardware is nickel plated. The pups are the stock 490R and 498T. The cool thing that really separates this from the regular 335’s is the access panels in the back, just like the Gibson BB King Lucille ES-335. The panels allow for easy access to the pickups and the controls. If this is a dealbreaker, consider the fact that it allows easy access to the various electronic components, making them far easier to service, or more likely, in case of modification for fine tuning the overall tone of the instrument by changing component values, or the pickups. The setup and repair costs drop considerably since no extra time is taken up trying to access all that equipment with a regular hollow or semi-hollow body. I have a Gretsch 6120 and it has cost so much more to setup and repair because of this.
