You're viewing a 2004 Gretsch Custom Edition 6120DC in mint condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs, a straight neck, and perfectly working pickups and electronics. The Custom Edition 6120DC Nashvillle differs from the newer Chet Atkins 6120DC Nashville in that it was an earlier version (and has a Custom Edition sticker inside the body) that was produced until 2008, when Gretsch won back the endorsement of the Chet Atkins estate and started putting the Chet Atkins name back on the Nashville series guitars, but then removed the more expensive and better sounding TV Jones Filtertrons from the guitar. Frankly, I think having the best pickups money can buy on the guitar (like this one has) makes the guitar much more desireable (and better sounding) than simply having Chet's name on it, but apparently Gretsch thought that when they added Chets Name, they had to take away the great sounding TV Jones pickups. But this guitar is still the earlier Custom Edition model, so you get the expensive ($300) and more desireable TV Jones pickups that came stock on this guitar. And of course, if you want Chets's name on the pickguard, all you have to do is buy a newer 6120DC pickguard with his name on it and you'll have that too (much cheaper than having a newer 6120DC with Chet's name on the pickguard and having to drop an extra $300 to buy a set of TV Jones Filtertrons). And the set on this guitar are 7 years old, so the magnets have aged to give this guitar a sweet tone that even drips honey when distorted. The clarity of these pickups combine wonderfully with the closed body to give you an articulate attak that still retains the fullness of a hollowbody. Conversely, I've played newer 6120DCs that do not have the TV Jones pickups and the High Sensitivity Filtertrons that Gretsch puts on the newer version do not have the clarity to compensate for the losed body, causing those guitars to sound muted and muffled. Not so on this guitar. Perfect cosmetic condition (not a scrtach on it) and perfect working condition, even still has the plastic on the pickguard and truss rod cover (it was never removed). Includes original case and case candy as seen in the pics. Please email with any questions, and thanks for looking.
