I am offering for sale a 1998 Bruno Underground 30 NR (non-reverb) head in excellent condition. As many Bruno affectionados know, this is considered to be the superior-sounding era of these amps. I actually prefer the Non-reverb model because I think it's more flexible. These amps already have a sophisticated and refined sound (perfect for blues, jazzy blues, etc.) but since the reverb softens the attack a bit, usually they don't sound quite as good for Rock. The Non-reverb model has a slightly quicker initial transient so it's a touch more aggressive (and more articulate) sounding. With a good pedal it can sound very ballsy and aggressive. I use a Holy Grail Reverb when I need it and I feel it makes this a much more flexible amp. I also prefer the 2 input (older model) for the same reason. This is an A-list amp in every sense of the word, but regrettably, financial hardship forces me to sell it.
Here is a sound file I created of this actual amp:
Gretsch Bamboo HG Bruno UG30NR
Here is a Harmony Central quote (from an owner) regarding this model amp:
"I'm telling you, this guy is a genius! Try to imagine clean tones that sound like a combination of Joshua Tree-era Edge, Eric Johnson, Chet Atkins, and SRV on Riviera Paradise all rolled into one and then some. Then, crank it up to 12:00. Now you've got early Page, Pride and Joy, or 70's era Stones with more harmonics and shimmer, depending on your guitar and pickups. Now turn the volume to 3:00 and you have the sweetest, richest, most sensitive lead sound around. Very Brian May, but more transparent. If there was a class A Dumble, this would be it. Believe me. I listen to and compare these tones DAILY. I've played though just about every amp you can imagine, and this is The One."
This is an incredible sounding amp in excellent condition for its age-- (a few very small tolex blemishes), and it works perfectly. Buyer pays $55. ground shipping in US (lower 48). I will not ship this outside of US. Read my feedback on high-end gear and buy with confidence!
