This auction is for a Greg Bennett Design Samick Avion AV-6 electric guitar with quilt top.
Actual weight: 8 lbs 1.5 oz. Serial number: S020713833.
It has a solid quilted maple top with mohogany sides and back. Beautiful cream binding and crown inlays on a set rosewood neck. Dual silver Duncan humbuckers and Grover tuners. Very attractive, classy guitar!
This guitar has been set-up by a professional luthier (low action, precise intonation, and pickup balance - all of which may be easily re-adjusted to suit your preferences). There is typical surface scratching on back which is so minimal that doesn't show in the photos; the exquisite quilt-top is in near-mint condition. The pick guard was removed by a previous owner (most likely to more completely display the beauty of the top) and I don’t have it (pick guards are easily and economically available though.)

Many players love the look of an arch top solid body, but are not aware of the incredible performance benefits it provides. The arch top adds mass for rigidity under the bridge, preventing the body from stealing energy from the string. This may add some weight, but the improvement in attack and sustain is worth it. The quilted maple top on a mahogany body provides serious definition with an amazingly warm tone. The single cutaway design shortens the exposed area of the neck, making it more secure and therefore more rigid. Combining this with a set neck greatly improves string performance."
Samick Avion models' mahogany necks are "set" into their hefty mahogany bodies; this feature helps to promote sustain. Also, the Samick's LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece make string changing simple and allow for precise adjustment of intonation.
