Gretsch Guitars

 This auction is for a hand carved solid wood spruce / flame maple archtop 2007 Eastman Uptown AR803CE in VG++ / EXC condition.    Eastman no longer makes a two pickup 803, and this one was made before they utilized the "D" designation for the short run of two pickup 803's that they did make.    For specs on the guitar go to http://www.eastmanguitars.com. 

 Modifications to this guitar as shown include a Gold USA B6 Bigsby, Gold Tonepros Tunamatic bridge with Graphtec saddles, Ebony bridge base, two Kent Armstrong Classic P-90 pickups in gold humbucker size, Sperzel gold locking tuners,  four CTS potentiometers, two Mojotone Vitamin T paper and oil capacitors, Gibson vintage style gold hat knobs and cream switch tip.  These mods cost over $600.   What you get in this auction along with the modifications is:

1. Original Kent Armstrong humbuckers
2. Original Gotoh gold withebony button tuners
3. Original CTS potentiometers and mallory 150 caps
4. Original Ebony tailpiece
5. Original Ebony knobs
6. Original Ebony bridge
7. Original w/b/w bound pickguard

This guitar has three finish dings on the top, and a few chips in the end of the headstock, also the original strap button hole still shows under the bigsby hinged mount. That is the only reason I've downgraded the condition to VG++ / EXC.  It's a thin lacquer(what you want for tone)finish and does show wear as you would expect from a 4 year old guitar that has been gigged and seen a few stages as this one has.   The playability and tone of this guitar rivals ANY archtop that I've owned, and I've owned many gretsch, guild, gibson etc. high end guitars.   The action is so low that playing is literally effortless, and the P-90's give you exactly the tone that you would expect from a handcarved archtop of this caliber and I would put it up against any current or vintage similarly equipped archtop for Rockabilly, Jazz, Country, Surf, Etc. playability and tone. 

 A new single pickup AR803CE retails for $2875, and that  doesn't include over $600 in extra high quality parts.   This is a great price on this guitar.  UPS ground insured shipping is FREE to the lower 48 states.  Paypal preferred to avoid the certified bank check scams that are going around al'a craigs list.
