This is a beautiful 1998 Epiphone Casino. The quality falls somewhere between The Elitist and the standard model currently available. The neck feels refined like the Elitist and the craftsmanship, fit and finish is well above the current Chinese produced model. The pictures represent the color quite well overall. The stain that was used is obviously not as bright as Gretsch orange however it does have a beautiful finish that has an orange-like appearance. The Bigsby vibrato has the Epiphone logo emblazoned across it's tail plate. Included in this deal is a nearly new deluxe Roadrunner gig bag. This Casino has all the classic chime and resonance that make these the timeless indispensable tone makers for players the world over. Players know these are a true joy to have as part of any guitar collection. If you have any specific questions please don't hesitate to ask, I'll do what I can to describe details or answer questions to the best of my ability. Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding. Domestic sales to the U.S. lower 48 only, thanks.

P.S. You'll need to email me before you pay so I can get you an accurate shipping amount. I'd like to keep the shipping cost as low as I can but from what I understand the calculator is not very accurate. Also let me know what string gauge you prefer and I will include a new set.

Someone asked me via e-mail why there is no serial number stamped on the back of the headstock. This is what I found. According to the folks at Gibson, oversees manufacturing facilities will sometimes provide only an internal label. Other times it's a headstock stamp only and no label and sometimes both id's are provided. I suspect the folks at Gibson either can't control consistency or let the inconsistencies ride as a way of maintaining a "superior" product that carries the Gibson name. A little more info to share about this particular guitar,

Manufactured: Peerless Plant, Korea December 1996
Peerless Korea Co.,
Ltd. is a Korean-Japanese joint venture company headquartered in South
Korea and has been in the guitar-manufacturing industry since 1970. With
the core expertise in guitar manufacturing initiated from Japan,
Peerless has provided 2.9 million pieces of guitars in the worldwide
market so far. Peerless had once manufactured 30,000 pieces of guitars
per month in the past in order to meet the order quantity, however have
gradually changed their focus from quantity quality. With this in mind
they have cut down their manufacturing capacity to 2,000 pieces per
month just to ensure the high quality of our products. Peerless produces
guitars via OEM for brands such as Epiphone by Gibson, Alvarez, Hoyer
and Gretsch by Fender. Note: While not explicitly stated it is believed
that Peerless is part owned by Aria of Japan.

1998 is the year I was originally told. At the time I purchased the guitar I had no reason to doubt it. I think the first owner bought it in 98 and assumed it had been made that same year.
