Gretsch 6120W-1957
MINT NEVER PLAYED, NEVER PLUGGED IN.
This is a combo of rarity, coolness, amazing tone, a time-capsule like vibe and amazing playability....
Heres the quick low down on the hard to find, hardER to find for sale, Gretsch 6120W-1957. The 57 'reissue' was VERY short lived. It was designed to be identical to the famous Eddie Cochran Gretsch from decades past. Because of licensing and resistance from the Cochran Estate it was dubbed the 6120-57, though anyone who knows Eddie or Gretsch well can see by one look what they wanted to call it. Verrry recently the Cochran family decided to go ahead a let Gretsch reproduce 'his' guitars, with his name. The thing is, that guitar cost $12,000.00. And the difference? Laughable honestly! It was the Dog-Ear Soapbar pickup, the brass nut, the Western motif, the fat B6GPVF Bigsby and the "buurned off gold" Clear pickgaurd Eddie made himself, these are what makes a 6120 Cochran tribute and there ALL right here, "G" branding and all!
The Clear pickgaurd, the Dog-Ear Soapbar neck Pickup and infamous DynaSonic Single-Coil Bridge pickup are all off Eddies design. Also don't forget the very cool Bigsby B6GPVF, which has a uniquely Fat and chunky tremolo arm, adding to the guitars ability to capture the era. Lastly a Brass nut and Western motif finishes this off as truly UNIQUE and COOL! Further more adding to the true 1957 vibe it is finished in Gretschs time tested Legend approved Nitro cellulose lacquer!
Eddie was a pioneer to Rockabilly music, known for rebellious behavior and also known for being the first known guitar player to change pickups out. He himself was the one that added his Dog-Earred Soapbard neck pickup, that is so crystal clear yet warm and bass-y.
Its hard to price a MINT and super rare guitar like this. There not around anymore as its time in production was only a few months before being replaced with a 12K model! Either way you will SAVE HUGE with us as always!! Original Hardshell Case included.
