Made famous by George Harrison in the 1960s (when the guitar was known as the Gretsch Country Gentleman) this guitar has been treasured by rock, country and jazz players for five decades. Now Gretsch introduces the first new Country Classic model in over thirty years, the Country Classic Junior small body electric guitar, model G6122JR.

The primary difference from other Country Classic models is the guitar's body size. The Country Classic Junior's maple body is just 14" wide and 2 1/4" deep, compared to other Country Classic models that are 17" wide. This smaller size and double cutaway format allow easier access to the higher frets. And for smaller players, this body is a more comfortable size.

The Country Classic Junior shares many features with other Country Classic models, especially the double cutaway model G6122. All hardware is gold plated and visually offset by the beautiful dark walnut finish and multiple binding on the body, neck and headstock. Two FilterTron pickups and a Bigsby tailpiece account for much of the distinctive Gretsch tone. The guitar has two individual pickup volume controls, a master tone control, pickup selector switch and the standard Gretsch master volume control.

The 24 1/2" scale neck is made of two ply rock maple with an ebonized rosewood fingerboard. Neoclassical (half moon) position markers add yet another time-honored Gretsch feature. There are 22 frets and the neck is joined at the 18th fret, for maximum reach and playability.
