Gretsch Duo Jet Professional series G6128T, unlike most, this one is a 1962 reissue which means it's also a double cutaway like Malcolm Young and Jack White play.
I'm the original Owner and this guitar is used. It's in great shape but you can see some wear on the ebony fretboard. It still sounds great, and I've never had any problems with it. It does have a floating bridge tremolo, so if you get rowdy with the bigsby it'll move. This is by design, but what a lot of people do is mark where the correct intonation is and put two sided tape on the bridge so it stays in place. That has NOT been done to this one, there is no tape residue or anything like that. I've not restrung it in a couple of months, but I do have a set of ernie ball strings (9-42) that I'll ship with it. The case is also included along with the truss rod adjuster.
I bought this guitar in 2007 when I was really into Jack White and he was playing one and the only reason I'm getting rid of it is because I'm more of a Steve Vai, Joe Satriani kind of guitar player and so I'm looking for a different kind of guitar now. The silver sparkle looks great, especially on a stage under bright lights. The guitar sounds great with a chambered body and Filtertron pickups that you can't find anywhere but Gretsch. It's got really good strap locks, and instead of a tone knob it has a treble boost and cut switch. Also has a Zero fret which really does make open notes have a better tone, and the thumbnail inlays not only look cool, they also retain the tone of the ebony wood, which is a little warmer than rosewood. The roller bridge looks different, but being able to adjust the spread of the strings is handy.
I 'm not sure but I believe this is one of the last '62 reissues sold, and they don't sell them at guitar center or musician's friend anymore. (If you find I'm wrong, please email me). And I'll be glad to email any additional pictures to you or answer any questions. Will only ship to US. Thanks!
