* HERE FOR YOUR BIN OR BIDDING IS A RARE JERRY JONES DANELECTRO-STYLE LONGHORN BASS IN COPPER, MADE IN USA, WITH CLEAR PICKGUARD, 2 GREAT JERRY JONES “LIPSTICK” PICKUPS, NEAR EXCELLENT CONDITION…  these are now RARE because Jones RETIRED and closed up his Nashville shop this spring… apparently the remaining stock of JJ Longhorn basses, in a handful of his dealer music stores, sold out FAST…  these used to sell for $1200 new from Jerry Jones—but now they are UNAVAILABLE, unless you’re lucky at a used-vintage dealer.

* AWESOME SMOOTH PLAYER WITH SLIM NECK & GOOD ACTION… EXCELLENT TONE-SHAPING FROM PICKUP SELECTOR & TONE CONTROLS, GETS A SOUL-PLEASING LOW-END THUMP plus JUST ENOUGH HIGH-END ARTICULATNESS, or you can make other TONES TO YOUR TASTE…  I ALWAYS PREFERRED BOTH PICKUPS IN USE, ROLLING OFF A BIT OF HIGH END WITH THE TONE CONTROL…  24 frets = 2 full octaves !!  FULLY ADJUSTABLE TRUSS-ROD.  I PLAYED THIS BASS FOR A BIG BLUES SOUND…  FRETS IN GREAT SHAPE, TUNERS EXCELLENT, FLATWOUND STRINGS STILL QUITE LIVELY BUT DEEP-TONED.

* NEAR EXCELLENT CONDITION EXCEPT FOR A FEW LIGHT SIGNS OF USE... after all, this was my main bass for several years…  ALL POTS & CONTROLS HAVE ALMOST ZERO SCRATCHINESS…  Jerry Jones NEPTUNE ADJUSTABLE BRIDGE FOR ACCURATE  INTONATION & A PINCH MORE CLARITY THAN THE OLD ROSEWOOD BRIDGE DANOS…  SUSTAIN, PUNCH, AND DEEP LOW-END FROM THE CLASSIC HOLLOW BODY…   Joey Spampinato played this kind of bass in the Chuck Berry movie “HAIL HAIL ROCK ‘N’ ROLL” (with Keith Richards)—and I believe also in his main band NRBQ.

* GREAT BASS, HARD TO LET GO, BUT WITH AGE I'VE TURNED TO OTHER SHORT-SCALE BASSES WITH FEWER FRETS…  NEED TO CLEAR OUT AND MOVE ON, SO PLEASE BE SURE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS AHEAD OF AUCTION FINALE AS THIS SALE IS FINAL--NO RETURNS.  I’VE DONE MY HONEST BEST TO DESCRIBE THIS BASS ACCURATELY…  I predict you will be very happy.
