HD-28 LSV (Large Soundhole Vintage):

The Martin
HD-28 LSV is modeled after the specific HD28 (serial #58957) owned by the late,
legendary Clarence White in the '60s and later by bluegrass master Tony Rice.
Suffering from years of hard picking, the original had the soundhole enlarged
to 4-5/16". A further modification entailed replacing the original
fingerboard with a longer, bound Gretsch without position markers.

The HD-28 LSV
is crafted with a solid Sitka top with aging toner, solid Indian rosewood back
and sides, a modified V mahogany neck, fine herringbone top inlay, and chrome
Gotoh tuners with butterbean knobs.

I bought this
guitar from Gryphon guitars in Palo Alto, CA. 
Their selection of high end guitars is arguably the best on the west
coast.  I picked this one over many other
great guitars for it’s clarity, volume, tone, playability and vibe.

The HD-28 LSV
is a favorite among bluegrass players and is great for all types of music.  It sounds awesome with powerful, resonant
lows and bright clean highs.  See for

This guitar
is in beautiful condition – no dings or scratches.  It even smells beautiful…  The case is in great condition and has dark
green crushed velvet lining.  This is special
guitar with serious mojo!
