Gretsch Guitars

This beautiful and toneful Maton EBG808TE, serial #3678, shipped 04/07, has been collector-owned since new and has no discernible player wear.  It has hung on the studio wall since its purchase in May 2007 except when it was taken to an all day workshop with Tommy held in Newport News, Virginia in the Spring of 2008.  It is there where he signed it with a black Sharpie on the upper treble bout, "Tommy Emmanuel, CGP".  As you probably know, "Certified Guitar Player" is an accolade bestowed on Tommy and only 2 other guitar players by the great Chet Atkins.  The factory plastic pickguard protector is still on, curling very slightly at the upper edges.

It is also equipped with the factory installed Maton APMic system with onboard preamp, powered by 2 "AA" batteries.
The immaculate Hiscox case is included and operates perfectly.  It holds all of the original hang tags, including the one from "Elixir Strings".  Those strings were on it at the workshop and when Tommy played it he grimaced and said, "These are the s****y brand of strings that come with the guitar, aren't they?  I don't know why they use them."  He suggested using Martins, so, it is now equipped with Martin Strings.  A definite improvement.
The pickup system is amazing.  One of the best you can find from anyone.  The jack is on the lower side, like a Telecaster, Gibson or Gretsch, not in the endpin, as on most acoustics.
Unplugged, the tone is very percussive and conducive to Piedmont blues.  Plugged in, it sounds, well, like Tommy sounds.  
The sandpaper "customizing" which Tommy creates on his own guitars behind the bridge has not been replicated.  I will, however, enclose a sheet of sandpaper so you can do it.  LOL!
