GIBSON VICTORY MVX
CHERRY SUNBURST FINISH

DESCRIPTION: This is a rare
example of a vintage 1982 Gibson Victory MVX six-string electric guitar. Gibson
introduced this short-lived – and VERY underrated – model in 1981, partly in
response to the popularity of its No.1 competitor, the Fender Stratocaster. The
Gibson Victory MVX was the top-of-the-line model of this series, and featured a
comfortably contoured Maple body similar to the Stratocaster. The neck is also
made from Maple, and features a 22-fret ebony fingerboard with dot inlays
running along the top edge of the fingerboard, and six in-line locking tuners
gracing its Firebird-like headstock. The difference, however, lies in the
guitar’s versatility in both sound and playability. The Gibson Victory MVX features
magnet- and iron-loaded humbuckers in the bridge and neck position, with a “Super
Stack” single-coil pickup in the middle. There is Master Volume Control, a
Master Tone Control with a low pass filter, a Master Coil Tap Switch, and a
five-position pickup selector switch that allows several coil-tap combinations.
Everything is wired in a traditional humbucking configuration to eliminate any
extraneous noise usually associated with single-coil pickup tonalities. Together,
this unique three-pickup and multiple controls assembly offer a wide-ranging
array of tonal options to satisfy a variety of style and sound cravings.

CONDITION: This particular Gibson
MVX Victory was purchased directly from a noted Nashville session guitarist who simply didn’t
play it very much. The guitar has pretty much sat in its case, in a
humidity-controlled environment, for most of the last 15 years. The guitar is
in excellent condition for a 28-year-old instrument, and plays and sounds
perfectly. It is in 100% original condition, with no modifications of any kind,
and the frets show very little signs of use. The classic Heritage Cherry
Sunburst finish has aged with distinction, with little or no checking
throughout. There are the usual light pick marks on the front and light belt
rash on the back, as should be expected on a guitar of this age, but there are
no scratches or marks that take away from this guitar’s natural beauty. The
guitar also comes with the original Gibson hardshell case, which is in excellent
condition with all latches and hinges intact and working properly.

yourself... This beautiful Gibson Victory MVX is simply stunning in both
appearance and playability … no further explanation is necessary.
