Description: 1960 Gretsch 6131 Jet Firebird electric guitar.
Cosmetic
Condition: Quite a bit of finish wear on the back of the neck from
years of play. Lots of weather checking all over the body & neck.
Various nicks, chips, dents & dings. A little bit of binding
shrinkage in the body cutaway & bass-side waist. Some minor cracks
in the neck binding.
Neck: Slender mahogany neck with ebony
fingerboard & thumbnail fret markers. Original frets are in great
shape with lots of life in them. Open-back tuners in perfect working
condition.
Body: Single-cutaway, semi-hollow mahogany body with
bound maple cap. G cutout tailpiece with space control bridge.
Pickguard is period-correct, but may not be original due to the extra
screw hole in the top near the cutaway.
Pickups: Gretsch
FilterTron PAF humbuckers with silver bezels. Both pickups register
about 4.70K ohms. Master volume & separate pickup volume controls
with G-Arrow knobs. 3-way pickup & 3-way tone selector switches.
Set Up: Professionally set up by our guitar tech & strung with brand new Ernie Ball .10-.46 gauge Slinkys.
Playability / Sound: Nice, low action; great playing neck; gorgeous FilterTron tones - classic Gretsch sound!
Case: Original hardshell case included along with vintage Gretsch guitar strap & polish cloth.
