to present this 1967 Gretsch Nashville 6120 Chet
Atkins! Here is a great example of a
classic American made Gretsch. This Nashville 6120
has held up wonderfully over the years and seems
to have been well played and taken care of. That
old Gretsch orange finish has held up great too! Like many old Gretsch guitars she does not include the string
mute mechanism (who uses them anyway?) or the
protective back pad. This does not detract at all from the way she sings and plays almost effortlessly. The original bridge pickup has
been rewound (by none other than the legendary pickup maker - Lindy Fralin) and it
sounds great, as does the original FilterTron in
the neck position. The finish is in very good
condition showing only some normal play wear and
the binding has held up nicely too with none of the classic Grestch binding rot that we are all too accustomed to seeing. The frets show some wear but have
plenty of life left in them. Some finish checking is
evident where the neck meets the body but nothing
scary. All in all this is a great playing Gretsch
that has held up very well over the years. Killer
sound and playability and a great chance to get
into one. Enjoy for years!
