Here's a near-perfect 1971 Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins "Nashville" hollowbody guitar! Everything on this beautiful guitar is original, with only one exception - the previous owner replaced the original Gretsch bridge with a more intonation friendly compensated chrome bridge . However, the original Gretsch bridge is included. The leather pad on the back of the guitar is original and looks brand new. The Gretsch case is also original, and is in GOOD condition, however the original handle has been affixed to the case with some type of wiring.

This beautiful Gretsch - serial number "8 1068" stamped on the back of the headstock - looks, plays and sounds amazing. According to known Gretsch records, the serial number dates it to 1971, but we believe it could be an earlier model based on some of the appointments (the nameplate, etc.), or a "transition model", as some collectors like to call guitars like this. The pictures below should answer anyone's questions about what period this particular model hails from. We purchased this guitar along with a large collection of gear from a fairly established, life-long musician, who bought it new sometime in the early 1970s. He has been the only owner of this guitar. Being mainly a bass player, he used this Gretsch quite sparingly, and it shows. The only issue with this beautiful guitar is some cracking around the body binding, which is quite common among older Gretsch guitars. All of the binding, however, is completely intact and not missing any pieces.
