This is one of only 1,005 Gibson Minuteman amps shipped in 1965. As you can see in the detailed photos - this amp is flawless. Not a scratch in the tolex or grill cloth and this baby sounds amazing. Last year the amp was gone over in meticulous detail by a vintage tube amp repair/restoration expert here in Columbus. This amp was actually purchased from the original owner last year. The accompanying guitar was a 1965 Gretsch Tennesean that I am not ready to sell yet.
The specs are as follows:
- 12" original speaker
- Reverb and Tremolo (both in perfect working order)
- 2 channels
- Tone controls on each channel: Bass, treble
- Tubes 7 (3x6EU7, 2x12AU7, 2x6BQ5
- Diodes: 2
The reverb is lush and the natural breakup when the amp is pushed hard is just plain gnarly with an edge you don't get from early Fenders or Vox.
Prices for this particular amp have continued to rise over the past couple of years and it is near impossible to find an example in this condition and perfect working order that comes to market.
