Well Gretsch Fans heres one to add to your collection. This is a 1976 Chet Atkins Country Gentlemen 7670 in very, very good condition. There are a few issues to speak of but they are very minor. First off the Bigsby trem is missing the arm. You can find these for around 40 to 50 dollars on ebay. Also two of the volume/tone knobs are missing the "G" inlay, you can also find these very easy. Besides that were talking very original, very clean and VERY COOL!!!! The serial number is 10 6119 meaning this was made in 1976 and it was the 119th made that year....pretty cool huh? The binding has yellowed oh so nicely and the best thing about that is NO CRACKS!! This is some of the best binding I've ever seen on a vintage Gretsch. This guitar has been case kept for about the last 30 yrs and didn't see a ton of use or elements before that. The gold bigsby is flaking a bit and the gold pickups are worn a little. However it still has a ton of character with the factory gold hardware and still looks AMAZING!! The pickups sound amazing and this guitar practically plays it's self. The bridge is a floater so there are some scuffs from where it has moved around abit but I'm sure these could be buffed out. The long and the short are this: There have been some the same model and year with broken headstocks and other issues that have sold for more then I'm asking!! Don't miss your chance to own one of these killer guitars.
PS. I know it is the same re-numbered model ole Harrison used, not the exact. His had a different headstock and painted F holes but it still has that VERY Beatle'ish overtone don't you think? I'm a beatle nut hence the butcher cover picture.......HAVE FUN!!
